These two beautiful floors are both of unsurpassed quality. Few other species of wood can offer their unique characteristics. Douglas has amazing color consistency and is renowned the world over. Douglas is often available in quite large dimensions. Thus, it is possible many times to get quite a bit of square footage from a single log. In the past, we have been able to get as much as 800 to 1,000 sf of material from a single tree. 1000 sf of 4/4 stock from a large Douglas log can easily produce more than 3,000sf of flooring with a 5mm wear layer.
